How can I have a comment moderation decision reviewed?
Readers’ comments are an integral part of the FT and we are grateful to those who take the time to contribute. Comments submitted by readers are moderated to ensure they adhere to the FT’s commenting requirements, which are set out in clause 3.13 of our Terms and Conditions and in our commenting guidelines.
A combination of human moderation and automated moderation are used to review comments. Where a comment is found to not be in line with the FT’s commenting requirements, it will be removed and the commenter will be informed of the reason for the removal.
The FT aims to make reasonable and appropriate moderation decisions based on the FT’s commenting requirements.
A human moderator will make a decision on comments that are flagged for scrutiny either automatically or by FT readers. Commenters have the right to request a review if they disagree with a moderation decision made by the FT.
To request a review of a moderation decision please contact Customer Care via the online form.
