How can I comment on an article?
To maintain the integrity and quality of the discussion, only FT subscribers may leave comments on an article.
Below most stories on FT.com, you are able to submit a new comment, reply to an existing one, or ‘recommend’ comments you like. The first time you submit a comment, you will be asked to choose a display name. You will also be invited to adjust your settings for comment-related email alerts.
Why are comments not enabled on some articles?
At the discretion of FT editors and moderators, some stories will be closed to comments. There are a number of reasons for such decisions. For example, it could be due to a legal sensitivity or because editors believe the discussion may elicit uncivil discourse, attract abusive behaviour or deteriorate quickly based on past experience.
If you would like to share your opinion, we encourage you to submit it to the Letters section. Find out how here.
