Why has the Morning Edition feature been removed?
What is the Morning Edition?
The Morning Edition is a feature available in the iOS version of the FT App, that provides a daily curated selection of FT news stories, as published in the daily paper. It is currently accessible via the main app navigation menu (“Switch to Morning Edition”).
What is happening to the Morning Edition?
We will be removing the Morning Edition feature from the FT App as it uses old code that we no longer support. Doing this will mean we can improve the FT App and provide even better features in the future.
If you visit the FT App using an Android or Google device, or visit FT.com, then you will not won’t be affected by this change as this feature is not available there.
What does this mean for me?
This change affects only those customers who use the Morning Edition feature on their Apple iOS device (iPhone or iPad).
We’re not removing your access to the FT App or access to FT content; you will still be able to read the articles that count as part of your subscription in the main section of the FT App. We are only removing the Morning Edition view of selected stories.
What are my options?
You can access the articles to read FT content on the FT App, where stories are updated throughout the day so you’ll always be up to date, and on FT.com.
Another option is to signup for our daily newsletters, such as “In Today’s FT” and “Morning Headlines” (UK and International Editions), which provide an overview of the day’s main stories. Go to ft.com/newsletters for more information and to sign up.
If you have a Premium subscription, you also have access to the FT Digital Edition App. This is a separate app which replicates the newspaper in digital format, and is updated daily as the newspaper is published. All of the day’s newspaper content is available in the Digital Edition app, as well as FT Weekend, FT Weekend Magazine, HTSI and a selection of our other publications.
To download the FT Digital Edition App, visit the App Store, download, and then log in using your usual FT account email address and password.
